Watch out because Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Florida is about to have it all with the grand opening of The Food Pantry, Thrift and Consignment Shoppe, Financial Literacy Workshop, and Cultural Center. BBBS of Mid-Florida has collaborated with S.A.F.E.ID4FAMILIES’ “Neighborhood Project” to deliver quality services to the Gainesville community. The grand opening will be in March in the Gainesville location at 1145 NW 13th Street. The Food Pantry and Thrift and Consignment Shoppe hours are Monday through Friday, 12pm to 8 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 1 pm. BBBS of Mid-Florida is requesting donations of food, thrift, and consignment products to satisfy the high demand from the community. Additional, two unique services are being introduced, the Cultural Center, under the direction of Femi Addie designed for children to learn about African heritage and it’s effect on American culture through exposure and interaction with local African artists and musicians and The Financial Literacy Workshop, under the direction of our CEO John Bonacci CFP, who will offer educational financial instruction, specifically tailored to low and fixed income populations. Programs and schedules for both The Cultural Center and Financial Workshops will be announced the first week of March. So be sure to stop by for food, clothes, and an enriching cultural and financial experience.
